Evropska agencija za bezbjednost hrane (EFSA), u saradnji sa Univerzitetom u Padovi (Italija), identifikovala je 12 vrsta potkornjaka i drugih ksilofagnih insekata koji predstavljaju visok ekonomski i ekološki rizik za zdravlje biljaka na teritoriji Evropske unije. Ove vrste napadaju listopadno drveće, trenutno su odsutne ili nijesu raširene u EU, te ispunjavaju kriterijume za klasifikaciju kao potencijalni karantinski štetni organizmi.
Ove štetočine, koje pripadaju potporodici Scolytinae, mogu ući u EU putem drvene građe, proizvoda od drveta ili biljaka namijenjenih za sadnju. Ukoliko bi se pojavile, mogle bi biti na djelovima teritorije EU zbog dostupnosti biljaka domaćina i klimatskih uslova pogodnih za njihov razvoj. Postoje kontrolne mjere za sprečavanje njihovog ulaska, uključujući uvoz iz zemalja bez štetnih organizama, karantin biljnog materijala prije trgovine i upravljanje uslovima uzgoja.
EFSA i Univerzitet u Padovi identifikovali su ovih 12 vrsta u okviru šire studije o 6.495 vrsta insekata. Iako je istraživanje obuhvatilo veći broj vrsta, i dalje postoji značajna neizvjesnost u vezi sa potencijalnim uticajem mnogih vrsta koje nijesu dovoljno proučene, kao i nedostatak pouzdanih metoda za njihovu identifikaciju tokom kontrola uvoza na granicama EU.
Zakon o zdravlju bilja Crne Gore
Prema Zakonu o zdravlju bilja Crne Gore, svaki biljni materijal koji ulazi u zemlju podliježe strogim fitosanitarnim kontrolama kako bi se spriječilo unošenje štetnih organizama. Ovaj zakon je usklađen s evropskim standardima, a cilj mu je zaštita biljnog fonda Crne Gore od potencijalnih karantinskih štetnih organizama. Identifikacija visokorizičnih vrsta, poput ovih 12 vrsta potkornjaka i drugih ksilofagnih insekata od suštinskog je značaja za pravovremeno donošenje mjera za zaštitu zdravlja bilja.
EFSA kampanja #PlantHealth4Life
Kako bi podigla svijest o važnosti zdravlja biljaka i sprečavanju širenja biljnih bolesti i štetnih organizama, EFSA je pokrenula kampanju pod nazivom #PlantHealth4Life (https://www.efsa.europa.eu/cnr/plh4l) u saradnji s Evropskom komisijom i državama članicama EU. Cilj kampanje je da se evropskim građanima ukaže na ekonomske i društvene prijetnje koje biljke suočavaju, kao i na njihovu ličnu odgovornost u očuvanju zdravlja biljaka.
Kampanja se temelji na opsežnoj analizi stavova i ponašanja građana EU prema zdravlju biljaka i namijenjena je jačanju svjesnosti o tome kako svako može doprinijeti očuvanju biljnog svijeta, kroz kontrolu uvoza, odgovorno ponašanje prema biljkama i pravilno rukovanje biljnim proizvodima.
